We have owned and operated Little Norway for the past 26 years. Our goal is to give you and your family a peaceful and successful fishing vacation. During this time, we have had the privilege to meet many great people.
We are a small resort with only 7 cabins and 4 seasonal campsites. Because we are small, we are able to offer you and your family a quiet surrounding that is open to friendship and well-being. The decks on the cabins, which are equipped with picnic tables and gas grills, enable you to view the lake or visit with your family our your neighbors.
Our cabins have:
Kitchens equipped with dishes, pots and pans, microwaves, and up-to-date appliances.
All bedrooms have full size beds and cribs are available for your use. All bedrooms are carpeted.
Living rooms are equipped with hide a beds for your convenience.
Bathrooms have showers, sinks, and stools. Cabin #7 has both showers and tub.
All cabins are air-conditioned for your convenience.
We have added another cabin this year. This cabin is very large and spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. It has a 9X12 fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher. There is a 13X24 living room and a 8X15 dining area. There is a 14X30 deck, great for a picnic or just lounging. This cabin is not located directly on the lake shore, but you have use of lake shore and docking facilities.
Our cabins are located on shady grounds near the lake. There is a slight slope up to the cabins from the lake. The lake is located approximately 100 feet from the cabins. The decks on the cabins face east, so we have beautiful sunrises and wonderful sunsets.
Lake Minnewaska is the 13th largest lake in the State of Minnesota. It averages a depth of about 20 feet. The deepest point is 32 feet with much of the off shore waters only 3 - 5 feet deep out 100 to 200 feet from shore. There are weed lines and many weed beds found out in the lake which presents great habitat for our fish population.
There is excellent fishing on Lake Minnewaska for walleye, northern, panfish, perch, smallmouth and largemouth bass. We can't guarantee fish, but we can guarantee a great time trying to catch those creatures of the deep.
There are things to do other than fish. The area is rich in Indian History, parks, shopping, hiking, biking, golfing, and eating pleasures.
We have two 18 hole golf courses located on the shores of the lake. Within a half mile of our resort there is a new high school complex which has recreational facilities that can be used during your stay. There is an outdoor track, tennis courts, and an indoor swimming pool
If you want to get away from our rural country setting, you can jump into your car and be in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area in a little over 2 hours. You can mix your vacation with quiet fishing and relaxation with a little shopping spree o the Mall of America or a trip to Valley Fair on one of these rainy days.
For a night out, we have an excellent supper club within walking distance from the resort. The Minnewaska House has a complete menu with entertainment throughout the summer.
We want you to feel rested when your vacation comes to an end. We also want you to return every year and become part of the Little Norway Family. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
